German road tax increase for heavy goods vehicles from December 2023.

Dear Customers,

We would like to inform you that the German government has decided to increase the current amount of road tax for all commercial vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes with effect from 1 December 2023.

The increase is split depending on whether it is a loading or unloading point in the country. The distance is calculated based on the shortest possible route via Germany to the Czech Republic, which is also the main route we use for all our destinations.

The tariff for vehicles over 18 tonnes with 5 or more EURO 6 axles will be €0.348 per kilometre, an increase from 83.2% (original price €0.19 per kilometre).

As previously announced, the majority of vehicles will fall into CO2 emission category 1, which is the highest category.

CO2 emission category 1 will include:
- All Euro 0 to Euro V vehicles.
- All Euro VI vehicles registered for the first time before July 2019.
- The majority of Euro VI vehicles registered for the first time after July 2019.

Due to this situation, the Toll collect authority will classify all vehicles as belonging to CO2 emission category 1.

Vehicles in this CO2 emission category (which are the majority) will undergo an increase the tariff from 0.158 cents per kilometre to 0.348 cents per kilometre.

The ground is taken into account for base increase of at least EUR 0.158 per kilometre.

Thank you for your understanding regarding this government action, which unfortunately is beyond our control.

Sincerely,
Delamod Bulgaria Ltd.
